It's one of the first films of Ilse Werner (which should be already enough reason to download it) and Rolf Hansen which may sound not that stunning especially for those who associate Hansen with his later dubious melodramas. However this film is a total surprise in many ways since it shows how a young couple tries to get started in life burdened by a lack of money and other troubles. The course of this film is about his inane existence, his insecurities and his inability to fit in to the hip crowd. The setting is in charming Southern Italy of a run down town near a harbor. Although it can be painful to watch this drip of a man, being rejected and snubbed repeatedly, the narration is really clever and quite amusing. There are lots of pretty girls and chauvinistic men to fill the stew.
