Along the way, the train derails and Madhu's friend is killed. Before dying, she makes Madhu promise to "take her place" at her in-laws. Thus Madhu becomes a new person. But, her old ex-boyfriend knows and she is actually connected to the people of Naini Tal in more ways than she knows...
