They meet accidentally in the streets of contemporary St Petersburg, and they set on a journey to the island Belyj in search of a rainbow - or a treasure that is supposedly been buried there since the war. The islanders are a rather unfriendly bunch and soon they start hunting the unwelcome visitors. Also the motivations for the protagonists are carefully construed from social and psychological issues such as poverty and masculinity. Apart from all this the film still delivers on the level usually expected from Italian seventies genre films: lots of unnecessary violence, often sexual, and nudity too.
